Raleigh Costa Rica Expedition 22L
Background
As part of my next chapter post leaving BT, I have joined Raleigh Costa Rica on Expedition 22L as a Volunteer Manager. I had thought this trip of a lifetime would not happen as a result of Raleigh International unfortunately going into receivership post the pandemic ... a sad ending to a charity that provided adults of all ages the ability to learn, experience and give back communities less fortunate.
I start my 88 day journey on the 23rd September 2022 (not long after my 59th birthday), returning on the 19th December 2022. Lots of preparation, packing and just getting ready to enjoy a new culture, learn some Spanish (hopefully more phrases than ordering beer!), see and be part of community projects (Natural Resource Management, Community Resilience and a 270Km trek), be in aww of the diversity Costa Rica has.
